To be more specific, the Everest region of Nepal offers a challenging and thrilling trekking experience on the Everest Three High Passes Trek. As the name suggests, you will cross three challenging mountains on this Everest 3 high passes trek: Kongma La (5,535m), Cho La (5,420m), and Renjo La (5,360m). These passes offer spectacular views of the Himalayas, especially when viewed from different angles on this tour.
Trekking over the Everest Three High Passes allows you to discover the Everest region’s hidden gems. The journey also especially features visits to the Nangpa La Valley, the monastery of Thame, and the ethnic Sherpa village of Marlung. Also, this trek covers not just the passes but also excursions to well-known locations like Gokyo Ri and Everest Base Camp, which offer the ideal viewpoint positions for up-close views of the tallest peaks in the world.

Itinerary
It's your first day in the Himalayan country. When you arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport, our representative will greet you with a pleasant welcome to you. Afterward, based on the size of your group, we will promptly transport you in our private car to the chosen hotel. Take some time to relax at the hotel do shopping and prepare for the trek. The tour briefing and introduction of the trek leader will be taking place in the evening. Overnight in the hotel.
Today is the first day of your journey. Your day starts in our private vehicle at the Domestic Airport for Lukla's flight. Your flights are always in the morning so you will have to carry takeaway breakfast which you can open up in Lukla and eat while enjoying the views of the Himalayas. The Kathmandu to Lukla flight will take approximately 35 minutes. Thereafter your arrival, our Sherpa staff will greet you and assist your luggage to the hotel where you will spend 40 minutes before the hike. We begin our trekking adventure through the town and down the gorgeously stone-paved route that passes by typical Sherpa settlements, green valleys, and the Dudh Koshi River until we arrive at Phakding village.
If your flight is on time you will arrive at Phakding by lunchtime and after rest, you will be hiking up to the monastery which is located on the top of the hill. This is an acclimatization hike that helps to adjust your body to altitude. As a rule, you always climb high and sleep low. Overnight in a lodge at Phakding.
We start our journey with a walk to the stunning Sherpa hamlet beside the Dudh Koshi River. After crossing a sequence of suspension bridges, the trail ascends to the settlement of Jorsalle, which serves as the entry point to Sagarmatha National Park. From here we proceed to Namche Bazaar.
Before arriving in Namche Bazaar, you can then take in the first views of Mt Everest and Lhotse. Situated at the entry point to the Everest region, Namche Bazaar is a charming mountain town featuring everything that one might want, including banks, stores, restaurants, and spectacular views of the Himalayas. Overnight in the lodge in Namche Bazzar.
Your day has been set aside for the higher altitude acclimatization process today. To provide you with enough sleep and prevent you from experiencing altitude sickness in the upcoming days, we will be staying at Namche Bazaar. Following lunch, we'll take a little climb in the direction of the Everest View Hotel to get up-close looks at Mt. Ama Dablam (6,812 m) and an in-depth look at the tallest mountains in the world, including Mt. Everest.
After that, we return to Namche, rest, and spend the remaining hours of the day exploring the lovely town. You might have lots of opportunities to learn about the customs, culture, and traditional ways of life of the Sherpa people on this day.
At Namche, we start our day with breakfast. The trail then climbs sharply through breathtaking forests, astounding towns, and breathtaking vistas of the Himalayas, including Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Nuptse, and many more. We keep walking in the direction of Sansa and Kenjoma Hamlet to go to Phunki Tanga. Following lunchtime at Phunki, we ascend sharply over the pine forest to reach the Tengboche settlement.
The stunning settlement of Tengboche is located in the Everest region and offers a picturesque location with up-close views of Ama Dablam, the highest mountain in the world. One of the main attractions of the journey will be our visit to the well-known Tengboche monasteries, which are the largest and oldest Buddhist centers. Here, we will nurture our spirits with every day praying Buddhist monks.
Our journey starts today with a short walk that takes us through a beautiful rhododendron forest, leading to the settlement of Pangboche. Our trial goes via numerous Chortens, characteristic villages, and Mani walls. We arrive at the village of Orsho—the route that divides the journey to Pheriche and Dingboche—after crossing the Imja Khola and traversing the bridges.
We pass through the Imja Valley after taking in the magnificent sights of Ama Dablam. To go to the Dingboche, we keep walking toward the Imja Valley. It's a charming community with immaculately manicured fields where locals produce potatoes, barley, and other crops. Another name for Dingboche is the entry point for Island Peak Climbing.
Another day set aside for proper recovery on the high-altitude trek is today. To guarantee proper adjustment at a high altitude, we halt here. You must continue to be active and avoid altitude sickness in the upcoming days when walking at high elevations.
We will walk to Nagarjun Peak after a late breakfast, from where we will get breathtaking views of numerous impressive peaks, including Mt. Everest, Ama Dablam, Makalu, Lhotse, Island Peak, Cho-Oyu, Cholatse, Taboche, and many more.
We also wander through the lovely village of Dingboche. We have a chance to rest and unwind after lunch.
We begin our day at Dingboche with breakfast. We head out for a wonderful trek into the picturesque village of Chukkung to start our day. The stunning alpine terrain is gradually crossed by the hike. Views of the Himalayas, including Mt. Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Island Peak (Imjatse), Ama Dablam, Thamserku, and Kwangde Peak, are available along the route to Chukkung. Chukkung is renowned as the Imjatese Valley as well. We arrive at the stunning Chukkung lodge for Lunch. After sometime rest, we will walk up to the Chukung ri (Climg high sleep low) and back down for overnight.
Passing this spot, you will soon reach Tengboche as you take in the sights along the way. As soon as you arrive in Tengboche, check into the hotel and get ready to explore as the tour guide leads you to Tengboche Monastery. You will undoubtedly find it intriguing to learn more about it from the guide since it represents one of the region's most notable cultural legacies. After viewing this reverent location and taking in the surrounding mountain scenery, you'll head back to your accommodation for an overnight stay.
One of the hardest and most thrilling initial passes of your daring journey is today's Kongma la Pass. We start our day at the lodge with breakfast. Here we make sure we get enough sleep before making our way across the valley and uphill to the famous Kongma La Pass.
We descend near the Khumbu glacier moraines as we cautiously make our way over this daring route. You could get lost or run into trouble when traversing the high-altitude route on glaciers. So, pay attention to our advice to avoid any issues. Following the pass, the trail heads north across the Khumbu glacier and into Lobuche. It is the hardest part of the trek and is the final descent. Overnight at the lodge in Lobuche.
Today is the most crucial day of our journey, as we approach the Everest Base Camp (EBC). After breakfast at Lobuche, we begin our day with a stroll uphill for a couple of hours. The trail then ascends steeply for a little distance to the Gorak Shep. It is a tiny Sherpa hamlet close to Mount Everest. Once we get at Gorak Shep, we store all of our luggage here and relax.
Following lunch, we set off with great anticipation in the direction of Mt. Everest Base Camp, traversing tiny pebbles, brief elevation changes, and snow-covered hills along the way. We are treated to breathtaking vistas of the magnificent Himalayas, including Mt. Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Pumori, Ama Dablam, and many more peaks after we arrive at our Everest Base Camp. We will look at the Khumbu glacier and ice fall at our pace, taking the best possible pictures and movies. Since there are no accommodations or tea houses at Everest Base Camp, we must return to Gorak Shep after enjoying ourselves immensely and feeling awestruck beneath the highest mountain in the world.
We get up early today to ascend Kalapatthar (5,545 m), one of the best viewing sites in the Everest region. 360-degree panoramic vistas of snow-capped mountains, including Mt. Everest, Nuptse, Pumori, Ama Dablam, and many other peaks, can be seen at sunrise from the summit of Kalapatthar.
After that, trek to Gorakshep, eat breakfast, and descend to Lobuche. As we leisurely descend to Lobuche, where we spend the night, we take in the breathtaking views of the Himalayas.
We start our day in Lobuche with breakfast. We hike down a route beside the Khumbu glacier from Lobuche. Along the route, we are treated to the beautiful scenery of Nuptse, Pumori, Ama Dablam, and more.
We travel past numerous Buddhist stupas and surrounding Chola Lake while passing by stone walls. For a few hours, our hike traverses the Chola Khola bridge and dips somewhat steeply before arriving in Dzongla. We stay at Dzongla, a stunning location at the foot of the Chola Pass, as there is nowhere to stay before crossing the pass.
Another challenging and thrilling day as we continue on our daring journey and cross the second pass, Cho La pass. After breakfast atop Dzongla, our difficult day officially starts. The challenge culminates in a sharp ascent and then travels over glaciers and icy paths to traverse the daring Cho La Pass in the Everest region. We may enjoy breathtaking views of Ama Dablam and Cholatse mountains as well as the stunning Chola Lake when we reach the top of the Cho La basin.
The journey to the Thangnak settlement finally takes us across Cho La Pass. Here, the obstacles like rocky outcrops and crevasses await us. We continue our stroll towards the picturesque settlement of Gokyo after lunch. It is situated at the base of the Ngozumpa glacier. In the direction of the Gokyo Valley, the trail winds past the highest-altitude freshwater lakes, the Gokyo lakes, and stony roads.
Another day set aside for the higher altitude acclimatization process is today. We intend to remain in Gokyo to get enough sleep. Following breakfast, we will ascend Gokyo RI, one of the Everest region's best viewpoints. A vibrant, fluttering Buddhist prayer flag covers the summit of Gokyo Ridge, offering breathtaking 360-degree views of the world's tallest mountains, including Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, Cho Oyu, and so on.
The spectacular lakes of the Everest region and the pinnacle views of Gokyo Valley are also visible. The enormous Ngozumpa glacier, the longest in the world, is also visible. We hike down after making wonderful memories, and then we relax for the remainder of the day or can continue to 5th Lake.
We conquer the third and last pass on our daring journey, Renjo La pass, on this challenging and thrilling day. With incredible vistas of Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Cholatse, and Taboche, we begin our hike early today and continue the trail until the end of Gokyo Lake before crossing Renjo la Pass.
One of the challenging passes on this exciting journey is this one. As we ascend the pass, we are treated to a breathtaking view of Mt. Cho Oyu and the surrounding peaks. Once we cross the pass, we walk around the frozen ponds below Renjo la. Then we descend to the little Sherpa town of Lungdeng, where we will have lunch. We then carry on walking till we arrive at the lovely settlement of Marlung.
We have breakfast at Marlung and then start our day. Our path crosses the Bhote Koshi River and heads into the Langmuche Khola valley. Up till we reach Thame village, we descend via breathtaking Sherpa villages, historic Buddhist monasteries, and uncommon lifestyles, cultures, and customs of the Sherpa and Tibetan peoples.
We will visit the well-known ancient Thame monastery after eating lunch at Thame. Since the Mani Rimdu festival, the primary celebration for the Sherpa people takes place in the middle of May each year, Thame is a popular destination for hikers.
After that, we make our way to Namche Bazaar, where we will spend the night.
The expedition in the Himalayan region is coming to an end today. We have breakfast to start the day. We stroll through the Jorsale-Sagarmatha National Park entry gate, trekking permit, and TIMS checking point after making a gentle descent via the Hillary bridge that crosses the Dudh Koshi River.
After that, the lovely village of Monjo is gradually reached on our hike. Following lunch in Phakding, we continue our journey across more suspension bridges, a forest of pine and rhododendrons, a beautiful village, prayer stones, and flags as we make our way to Lukla, the Everest Region's entrance. We celebrate our successful journey's end when we arrive in Lukla and have our final meal with the crew and porters.
If you are satisfied enough with your Sherpa porters' services, you can express your gratitude to them today as this is your last day with them. After that, we board to aircraft back to Kathmandu or we may have to fly into Ramechap and drive to. Kathmandu. Annapurna Base Camp is a Grade B or a moderately difficult trekking route. So any fit person can do this trek, even if you do not have any previous experience. You should be aware of what to expect and mentally prepare for it. Then, as long as you will too, you can.
